Tonight I attended Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams’ Fall Collection Launch Party in Greenwich. I had so much fun catching up with familiar faces and perusing all of the beautiful vignettes that I pulled together this little recap of the event for you. Sponsored by Connecticut Cottages & Gardens Magazine, the evening featured three room scenes expertly crafted by some of my favorite Fairfield County based designers — and composed solely of Mitchell Gold furniture, rugs and accessories.
The area’s creative community and design enthusiasts alike came out en masse to toast to the new collection and to the three fabulous featured designers.
Mitchell Gold’s spacious Greenwich store buzzed with a lively crowd, happily chatting away and noshing on the tasty selection of hors d’ouevres.
Turning our attention to the room scenes, first up is the accomplished designer, Charlotte Barnes, of Charlotte Barnes Interior Design:
Charlotte’s calling card is highly personal, tailored interiors layered with interesting textures and -oftentimes- high impact graphic fabrics:
Knowing a thing or two about the subject, the theme of Charlotte’s vignette for Mitchell Gold is aptly: “Empty Nesters.”
I love the comfortable seating arrangement, exciting selection of throw pillows and thoughtful choice of artwork — which really brings the room to life. With the gorgeous photograph of feathers above the sofa, Mick Jagger on the neighboring wall…
…and the witty placement of a smoking and drinking Jack Nicholson above the bar, it’s the perfect space for quiet conversation, unwinding or entertaining.
(Had to include this playful picture of Chirstopher Spitzmiller and his colorful, one-of-a-kind creations.)
Sam’s aesthetic is glamorous and youthful:Fitting, therefore, that his room scene is titled “Fresh and Young Glamour.”
His room features a traditional, symmetrical layout but suprises and dazzles with reflective surfaces and playful textures from the rug, to the throw pillows to the shiny and sumptuous upholstered ottoman.
Love this chic & cozy chair!
Finally, the lovely and gifted Amy Hirsch of Amy Aidinis Hirsch Interior Design…
whose signature look is beautiful, serene interiors with clean lines and impeccable details:
Amy designed a dining room for a Back-Country retreat,
anchored by this show stopping, dramatic sculpture and gracious console in an unexpected, tart shade of green.
She chose a dining table with an earthy, organic feel – befitting a Back Country hideaway- and surrounded it with a variety of seating options…all with rich textures and subtle colors. I love how the bold rug lends graphic impact to this sophisticated composition.
Guests at the Mitchell Gold event were given the chance to vote for their favorite room scene. Stay tuned to CTC&G to find out which talented designer claims this bragging right. If you live in Greenwich or surrounds, be sure to stop in and admire these creative interpretations. Or -better yet- give one of these designers a call for help crafting a look that perfectly suits your own unique lifestyle.
Today and every day: God Bless America.
