“Roses and Rosé” – with its pleasant alliteration- was born from my love of flowers and the occasional splash of rosé. The compelling combination seemed like the perfect recipe for a small ladies night to mark my birthday. The evening began with a letterpress invitation by Carrot and Stick Press — tucked in a hand painted ombré envelope.
The party itself was held at the Juliska store in Stamford.
Guests noshed on a buffet of tasty light bites, courtesy of Food Design.
Some of the offerings included jicama and mango summer rolls…
and gooey grilled cheese sandwiches on walnut bread served with demitasse cups of spring pea soup — inspired by the insanely delicious spring pea soup at Jean Georges’ restaurants.
As a non-alcoholic option, we served “Elderflower and Rose” spritzers…
So light and refreshing over ice and in color coordinated glasses!
Onto the flower arranging! This is the sample arrangement that we made:
And off to the races!
Hard at work creating floral masterpieces:
The floral designer who led us through the step-by-step of how to make the sample arrangement also left us with some inspiration for using non-traditional vases and containers…
And walked us through how to pull together a special arrangement such as this beautiful purple combination.
Finally, we enjoyed a little double chocolate cake…
And strawberry shortcake in a jar.
Guests went home with little goodie bags courtesy of Juliska,
filled with stacks of notecards and some fun “flash tattoos.”
I was thrilled that my lovely friends at Juliska sent me home with this gorgeous bundle of goodies. I especially love the wicker tray and use it all of the time for outdoor entertaining!
Wherever these warm August days should find you, I hope you have the chance to raise a glass of the pink stuff to these last few glorious weeks of summer.
You know what they say…”Rosé all day!”
