If you are entertaining next week and are in search of a few final decorative touches to make all merry and bright, I have just the inspiration for you to spruce things up a bit. My friend hosted a fun and festive “holiday tea and treats” featuring a dreamy selection of sweets (and insanely good chai tea?!? catered by Marcia Selden), but what stole the show por moi was her effortless and au natural holiday decor. Feast your eyes on a storybook scene at the front door:
The entryway aglow with greens, pine cones and mercury glass votives.
A stylish swag on the staircase:
A glimpse at the dining room
…Where all of the windows are framed by gorgeous garlands
The restful living room, with a chic, understated mantle (love the potted amaryllis wrapped in burlap!)
…and delightful vignettes at every turn. A cozy sitting area:
Weathered wood and a crisp white floral:
and a lovely display of blue and white porcelain
…set off by a dazzling reindeer!
In the kitchen, antlers and natural accents abound.
And, finally, the airy family room
…which plays host to the family’s simple and stunning tree.
With a burlap skirt, birch pieces artfully woven among the branches and ornaments with a handcrafted feel and soft color palette.
And, finally, more gorgeous white flowers at every turn!
By the time I had finished snapping these pics, chatting and sipping a cup of divine Mariage Frères vanilla tea while sitting on one of the many fluffy white couches, I was completely sold on my friend’s stunning, uncomplicated approach to holiday decor. She used Winston Flowers for her holiday florals and has found many of the beautiful accessories for her home at Terrain, Shabby Chic and Ralph Lauren Home.
Happy shopping and decking and happiest of holidays to you and yours!
